Smart modem for remote reading of electricity, gas and water meters
The Smart Elektroniks smart modem is a data collection device (Smart Data Collector) designed to automatically collect readings from electricity, gas and water meters and transmit them to a central system. A single modem can read 8–12 compatible meters. This approach combines several meters into a single communication point and simplifies data management.

Data transmission via GSM/GPRS technology
The modem reads the connected meters in accordance with their communication interface and protocol. The collected data is sent to the central server over the GSM mobile network via a GPRS packet data connection.
Thanks to a connection configured with a SIM card and the mobile operator's APN settings, the need for a fixed internet line at the meter site is reduced. Transmitting data at set intervals allows consumption readings to be updated regularly. The reading and transmission frequency depends on the device configuration, power supply and network capabilities.
Integration with the central system
This solution works as part of an AMR (automatic meter reading) system and, with appropriate integration, can be used within an AMI (advanced metering infrastructure).
Readings received by the central system can be used to build consumption history, compare periods, prepare reports and support billing processes.

Smart Gateway — a software gateway for transmitting meter data to the central system
Smart Gateway is software that receives electricity, gas and water meter readings from smart modems and transfers them to the Central Database. Acting as the link between the modems and the central system, the gateway ensures that data is collected in a single database and can be used in other systems.
Developed in-house by Smart Elektroniks LLC, Smart Gateway has been used on various platforms for more than 5 years. The solution automates the transfer of meter data, reduces the need for manual data entry and simplifies monitoring, reporting and billing processes.
